I’ll take Denny Hamlin, Elliot Sadler and Jeff Burton; you get the field

I'm Charlie Turner co-host of the syndicated, mostly NASCAR radio show On Pit Row. Thanks for stopping by OnPitRow.com and the Bench Racing with Steve and Charlie blog. Oh yeah, Steve is an idiot.

This is one race where I think the home teams are a lock. Ever since the tragedy at Virginia Tech, Hamlin and other Virginia born drivers have put extra pressure upon themselves to win one and bring, perhaps, a bit of extra joy back home.
Jeff Burton’s Impala will sport VaTech colors and I’m sure, emotions will be raw.
So, good luck boys. I hope that this is one of those feel good NASCAR weekends.

Not saying I’d mind one of the home state boys bringing it home, and all three are good on the short pavement, but I think there’s too many things in the way for it to happen.
Hendrick has stunk up the COT scene so far in the books, although Gibbs was pushing its weight around as well.
If anything, I’d kill to see Ward take either of the events this weekend. Unrealistic, but I’d still get a kick out of it, and the post race interviews too.
