The fact that I’m more than a little late in posting this weeks Fast Lap questions allowed me two things. One, a chance to sleep and two, the opportunity to showcase Dale Earnhardt Inc.’s most famous car, one last time.
The old No. 8 just won’t be the same - even less of the “same” than it’s been this year - when the company that fields it is called Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates. Or whatever it’s going to be called now that it’s not going to be DEI.
Teresa Earnhardt and Chip Ganassi (with Felix Sabates) must have read the same writing on the same wall and decided that a good IRL team and a great museum could make a fair Sprint Cup team. At least they hope so. I’m not as sure.
1: Brian France said NASCAR’s primary focus is controlling costs. Where should they start?
2: Has the #48 team redefined the term “points racing”?
3: Can NASCAR ever be taken seriously if its late TV coverage has to be moved to a cable network?
4: Jimmy or Cale?
There’s some pretty good discussion - read argument - material in those four, tight little corners this week. Steve and I about wore each other out - especially on the TV deal - ON PIT ROW Tuesday night. I want to hear , or I guess read, what you have to say. Let ‘er rip in the comment section. We will too, I promise.

We will post our Fast Lap questions some time each Monday. Four questions on topical NASCAR related subjects. Your mission is to comment with your answers and each answer is limited to 100 words. The questions, answers and comments will form the basis of this blog for that week. Comment on the Fast Lap questions. Comment on the comments. Insult the commenters. Witty ridicule is rated at least as highly as cogent commentary. Just remember that you have limited words and penalties are severe. Or not. Steve and I will select worthy blog entries to be featured on an edition of On Pit Row. That's the plan. I'm sure we will have some other things to post about each week but the intention is to pose most posts as questions. I want to argue with you! Bring it on.

NASCAR Fantasy Racing
On Pit Row is glad to be a part of such a great NASCAR fantasy racing game like Champs, Chumps & Sleepers. Grand prize is a Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure. How cool is that?
NASCAR Games
1– How about his salary. Brian hasn’t exactly lived uop to his daddy’s or grandpappy’s legacy. Short of that how about limiting the weekend to two and a half days.
2– They have redefined just about everything over the last three years. If racing for wins isn’t points racing then I don’t know what is.
3– No. Whoever didn’t get it in writing that their races would be covered until over with an adiquate post race show, screwed up big time. Note to Brian, Mike and Jim; get it in writing next time.
4–Cale–I just like his swagger.
